On the second Sunday in May in Italy and other countries we celebrate Mother's Day, which just like Easter, does not have a fixed annual date and this year the occasion will be May 14. It is a special day "invented" to remember the high significance of the mother figure within the family and society, and Mason's wants to celebrate this day by recommending the perfect gift to celebrate the love we all feel for our mothers.

When and how did Mother's Day come about?
We first began to hear about Mother's Day in May 1870 in the United States by Julia Ward Howe, a pacifist and abolitionist activist, who actually proposed the establishment of Mother's Day for Peace as a time of reflection against war.
However, his proposal was not accepted; in fact, one has to wait until the early 1900s' to celebrate modern Mother's Day for the first time. It was pacifist Anna Jarvis in 1908 who wanted to dedicate a celebratory day to her own mother; later her supporters proposed to ministers and businessmen that the holiday be made a national day to be commemorated annually, and by 1911 the custom had spread to almost all American states. In 1914, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson made the holiday official as a national holiday, and from then on the custom of giving red roses to mothers became widespread.
